Tangled Up in Blue

Tangled Up in Blue

(a free verse poem)

In time, even comforts become uncomfortable,

The endless array of conveniences become inconvenient,

Tech entangles and worldly distractions can overextend,

From appearances, we are alone in the vastness of remaining life,

For all the forces pushing us down and stringing us out,

The greater force is outside of this world,

holding us up…

Behind the Scenes

TangledupinBlue24x24-1024x1024.jpg

This tree has problems. It’s branches are far too slender to support its own leaves in the wind. The branches are twisted and curled in upon themselves. The tree is tangled up, and the blue sky shows through.

Storms will come and winds will blow and how will it fair? If only the tree knew that the hands that hold it up (John 10:28-29) are the same hands who create the wind (Amos 4:13).

Bob Dylan has a song entitled “Tangled up in Blue”. This image has nothing to do with that, except a borrowed title. Thanks Bob!
